2006 TSX vs 2004 TSX Quick Impressions:

I'm sure this sort of thread was posted several times already but I want to give my opinion on it, so in brief:

I went to get my 2004 TSX serviced today at the dealership. I asked to test drive a 2006 TSX and got to take it around till I emptied the tank.

-------------------------------------------------------

For comparison I currently drive a 6MT 2004 TSX Non-Navi with a Injen CAI, TB Bypass, and Comptech Short Shifter.

I drove a bone stock 6MT 2006 TSX Non-Navi

-------------------------------------------------------

Interior:

Pretty much I'm impressed by one thing. I have to say I hands down love the new gauge cluster, the blue accents add a more luxurious and sportier appeal to the car when driving it. Also for those of us without navigation, the info screen added the little zaz that makes the 2006 gauges better than the previous model's.

Exterior:

I'm not too fond of the exterior of the car, I guess it's personal preference, and maybe I'll grow into liking it... I just think the front bumper makes the car look too light up front.

Performance:

All I can say is when you go WOT and hear the sound of the induction I am all but excited to see what would happen with a intake. The extra breathing helps alot when VTec kicks in, I feel much more of a pull than I do with my car. This does nothing more than make me wonder what kind of power Hondata and Comptech can harness from the 2006 TSX. I'm very impressed with the added "umf" in power.

That's about all I can say off the top of my head. The TSX is a great car 2006 or not

I wonder how much the gap between your '04 and a stock '06 would close if you had your ECU reflashed.

Cams, intake, etc?

I don't remember the specifics, but it has a bigger throttle body, and better flowing valves and such.

I'm sure with a ECU it'll definately close the gap between the two... but then again what if Hondata flashed the 2006 ECU?

Cams for both intake side and exhaust side, intake, larger bore on the throttle body, exhaust tract.

is '06 and '04 a valid comparison? the '06 is the "refresh", and should be everything we wished the '04 to be...... o.O

They already have for the 06, remember?

The difference is that the breathing revisions on the 06 allow it to put down the same kind of power as an 04/05 with CAI and header. Add the Hondata and the change is even greater. The 04/05 with CAI and header resulted in an increase of around 27 hp at 6000 rpm. The 06 with stock breathing tract results in a 32 hp increase at 6000 rpm. Add a CAI intake and the power increase should rise by another few hp.

...don't mind if I do. My next dyno stop will be after the 06AT reflash is released and on my car, and I'll use the Comptech Icebox this time. Hardly apples-to-apples, but I'm eager to see any gains.

Long term plans include a header. Release of an 06 Supercharger may make that a priority though. Don't think I'd get around to that until next winter anyway.

Wow, I didn't know it was out yet. So fast too. I've been out of the loop for a while, I've just been lurking around this place ever since school started.

Well I got the car with around 1/4 tank, and I drove it for a good 30-45 minutes pretty hard up and down hills hitting vtec all the time. I was just so impressed with the sound of induction and the kick vtec gives that I had my way with the car.

The guy was cool and didn't mind either, he asked what I thought about it and we talked about the differences for a bit. He says he browses TOV and AZ every now and then... maybe he's reading this post?
