2006 TSX rear bearing

After doing some research and getting price quotes from local mechanics here in jacksonville Fl. I've decided to turn this into a diy project. i checked all my tires and it seems the driver side rear bearing is gone, it looks pretty easy to change out just had some questions, should i change out just one or do the pair in the back, also I'm thinking about going with a timken hub are they good?

I have changed the left front bearing on my 04 after I slid into a curb. I think you can just change as needed. What symptoms of bearing failure are you having? If it is just tire wear, I think that is more an alignment/wheel issue

It looks like the rear bearing and hub are integrated in the rear. For a component like this, I would stick with OEM. You are going to realize savings from doing the work yourself. Don't skimp on the cost of the part.

Any item that fails from regular wear and tear (as opposed to trauma) should be changed in pairs (or more if appropriate).

Bearings are not a scheduled maintenance item. If you replace a bearing there is a real, significant probability of getting something wrong or bad part, and having an immediate (infant) failure.

I'm in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix" camp.

good luck

When I had my 2006, I was having bearing noise at about 140k, so I took it to the shop and he replaced a front one, but the noise didn't go away.

turns out the other front one was bad and a rear one too, go figure

I had him do the other front and I did the rear one myself

I didnt have a press to do the fronts.
