and the picture does no justice

i'm expecting a call from my dealer any day now to tell me he's swapping with this other local dealer. supposedly they have it worked out already, and the cars were supposed to port yesterday. since it's NJ, shouldnt take long to get from port to dealer....3 days?

It seems there is a little rivalery from 04/05 vs. 06 TSX'ers

Ya, mostly caused by STL

There really shouldn't be a rivalry. The 06 is better in every conceivable way, as it should be.

Ahem, except for the rims and the look of the front (both subjective).

Ya, I just didn't want to say it again

As much as I can't understand how someone could like the rims I can't understand how anyone doesn't like the new front end/fogs

As some have stated before, the '06 wheels do look better in person than in pics.

That being said, I still like the '05 rims better, and that's what I have on my '06 (bought them on eBay before I even got my '06 after seeing the pics).

And no, bradykp, the '06 rims are not just 2 extra spokes. The spokes don't go all the way to the edge of the rim like the spokes on the '04-05 rims do. As a result, they almost look like a hubcap design. Like I said, they DO look better in person than pics, but still leave a lot to be desired IMO.

it looks to me like the spokes go all the way to the rim. either way, both leave a lot to be desired, but both arent that bad either. i prefer the 06, you prefer the 05.

I stand corrected

ok i found some better pictures and i see people's point on the 2005.

http://www.hondanews.com/CatID8006?m...47637&mime=JPG

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...spagenameZWDVW

i only wish i could get a decent pic of the 2005 wheels on the car...anyone have one?

Anyways, this turned into a thread about the wheels. Any more comments on FEATURES instead of design?

I just put a deposit on an '06 premium white parchmentwith interior with NAVI that is supposed to be in within a week to ten days. I went to several Dealerships in the Southwest and felt this was the best deal.

The deal is as follows:

$28,900 selling price of car '06 white with navi
factory spoiler included
full tinting included
$288.00 doc fee
plus TTL

Please let me know if I got a good deal

Harold, not the thread for this.

Try this thread. You can compare your price to what others have already paid or are paying.

I can finally add to this. Yah das right... finally got my baby today. The only thing I don't like are the stock tires! They SUCK in winter! And if you think 5cm of snow is winter? Try 20-30cm of the stuff! I had the dealer put on some bridgestone blizzaks cuz I was driving 250km back home in 25cm of snow and these things performed flawlessly!

Pics to come, still unloading my gear from the car, just got home.

OK, here's something that relates to the original topic, although I doubt it's new to the '06s...

J'ever open one back window at highway speed? The resulting low-frequency vibration is like one of those non-lethal weapons technologies the military is testing.

I've done that with my old car... but with the sunroof completely off and both windows fully down going between 40-60km/h. At highway speeds it was fine. It wasn't quite the ultra-low-frequency, but the resonance and buffeting was so bad and loud it felt like my head was going to explode.... or my engine, as I was thinking at the time.

On one of my previous cars, a 2001 GTI VR6 if you had the window's up, sunroof opened all the way and pressed the little air ramp thing down with your hand at highway speeds it felt like the cabin was going to explode! I used to do it to screw with people all the time

Yup, my MDX does it as well, it feels like you're riding in a helicopter with the rotors thumping right over your head.

- Don't like that it doesn't have cooled seats. That almost was a deal-breaker, but couldn't bring myself to buy a Zephyr, or spend several $thousand more for a Lexus with pretend back seat. I expect this in the next gen.
- Don't like lack of side molding. And worse: the car is gorgeous without it - probably will look-poop if I put some on. Might try it anyway - before this car leaves the fam, it will have 10 years or 200K miles; can't bear the dings.
- Don't like that the ride is a bit harsh (for an old fart). I'm thinking adjustable Koni's may be the solution to get it to ES330 comfort level; it's not that far as it is.

A small nitpick, the cupholders are too wide & too deep.
I will probably have to find an after-market adapter to fit regular papercup & tall-skinny stainless mug so they don't rattle around inside the cupholders.

Everything else is perfect

Reeeaaallly nitpicking here, but here goes (these are more like features that I wish the TSX had).

No auto up/down for all four windows (I know the key/key fob trick).
No auto open/close moonroof.
Can't customize doors to lock when the car starts moving.
6th gear could be taller for better gas mileage.
1->2 shift tricky with dbw.
Wish the instant gas mileage readout on the MID was digits instead of a bar graph.

Love the styling, the nav, the gearbox, the blue LED under the center cubby hole, the HID's and everything else.

I love my new car. On smooth roads it's quiet and relaxing, on twisty roads it's a hellova fun car to drive. I like the blue LEDs inside the cabin (a subtle but thoughtful touch). The rims...well they've grown on me a bit. Not that bad when you're looking at them from an angle. The Navi, voice controls and bluetooth are useful and fun - my geeky friends are impressed! Only problem is my parents can't use it on their new TSX too well - they've got an accent in their speech.

Wish list
-It'd be nice to have more mid-range (or at least be able to adjust it) in the sound system
-Auto moon roof
-Auto door locks
-Auto leveling lights

Not much to complain about this car. It's an all around balanced piece of machinery.

Also, nine-spoke wheels - too many spokes. 5, 6, 7, 8 all would be better. And I've got these black floor mats, with TSX embossed in white. Now, how long will that stay clean?

Regarding the LEDs in the cabin, where all are they? The only one I've noticed as yet is the one in the center between the sun visors shining down; are there more?? I've had my car for two weeks now and never have thought to look when I'm in it at night for the rest of them.

I doubt this is a 2006 specific problem, but I totally hate the fact the two trip odometers only count up to 999 miles. Does Acura/Honda really believe no one takes trips longer than 1k miles? Furthermore, having two trip odos means you could use one to track maintenace (like oil changes, tire rotation, etc.) if they only went higher than 999 miles!! They made a REALLY stupid mistake on this one.

Hmmm, never noticed that, interesting point. And no I've never taken a trip longer than 999.

There's that one and there one under the radio above the CD storage compartment in the center console. Plus, the entire dash is backlit using LED technology.

Those odometers have been like that in all the Hondas I've driven way back to my first hand me down car an 88 Accord.

This finally made me realize the trip odo is my S2000 only went to 999. I was trying to use one of them to keep up with oil changes, and I thought my wife was accidently resetting it -- now I know it's just rolling over. For the record, my Toyota Tacoma's two trip odos go up to 9,999 miles. Maybe Honda will get a clue one day. It's not like making the trip odo have another digit has any recurring costs for them (and the one time cost is almost nil).

I've had my PWP/auto/parch/navi for a week now.

Stuff I wish it had: Sirius, tilt down mirrors when in reverse, one touch down windows, and I wish there was a way to keep the spedometer/tach bright when you turn the lights on (for driving in the rain during the day-but maybe there is and I haven't taken the time to find out how yet). Ventilated seats would be nice but that might significantly increase the price of the car.

what is MID and the Trip Computer? Is the Trip Computer a glorified odometer and mpg information system?

Also, is it possible to switch the front lip and wheels of the 06 with the 04/05s? Yes, i hate the 06 redesign too, it just doesn't flow with the rest of the car

The rear tail light that used to be white that is now gray is kinda off, but I think a gunmetal/gray colored set of wheels will complement them very nicely.

Big bummer on the key fob too, I wish it could be like the Accord's where it's all on one key.

No MP3 CD playback? What were they thinking? Even the new Civics have them...

I've got a few minor gripes...most of which have been covered. the MP3/CD playback is the biggest oversight IMO. Here's a few other things I feel are missing...

Auto-on Headlights
Brightness controls for the Gauges
Did I mention the MP3 disc playback?
Adjustable Lumbar Support on the Seats
Auto Down on ALL windows.
Auto Open on the Sunroof.
No option to lock the doors automatically when in Drive.

And the most annoying, and I don't know why it's bugging me so much - the lockhammers on the doors are the cheapest looking pieces of plastic I've ever seen. And I HATE the fact that they still stick up when locked. I want to replace these ASAP - anyone have any suggestions for replacements?

There is no brightness control? That is odd because I know that my TSX has brightnes control. It is part of the gauge cluster, looks like the reset button for the odometre, but its the controller.

I'm sure my few have been covered already, but still wanted to chime in:

Wish list: MP3 playback on CD
Nicer stock tires
Adjustable lumbar

That lumber SUCKS. I'm a small girl, and that lumbar support, even when it's as far "off" as it will go, still almost hits me between my shoulder blades! Seriously, it's the most akward thing I've ever seen.

Other than that, I LOVE my car!
