2006 MP3 CD Player

First Post! (long time lurker)

I just ordered a 2006 TSX Auto CGP Quartz w/ Navi and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the MP3 CD player accessory?

Does it integrate with the Navi screen and display the artist/track title?
Can you use the voice activated controls to skip through songs?
Does it have a browse by artist/genre/title/etc. feature?
Can you use the steering wheel controls?
Is it worth the cost?

Get an ipod if you don't have one and wait for the Acura ipod accessory...shouldn't be too much longer

HahahA Every NAVI owner I know is glad they bought the NAVI option. Quite a few non-NAVI owners wish they got it. I assume you don't have the NAVI model.

BTW, you can use voice to skip songs..not by name but skipping one by one.

ipod...

get an mp3 player, but why an ipod? if you like them get one, but creative's are nice too.

i see the ipod accessory as a waste if you have the aux in. $200 to mount my ipod? what benefit does it give. so basically, you're telling him to spend $400 on ipod + kit instead of a cd player that plays mp3s?

doesnt sound right to me

Ipod

Cool, thanks for the input everyone.

I will probably go for the ipod integration. Although it's more expensive (and I didn't really want to jump on the ipod band wagon), the integration with the car is worth the money to me. I can't find any info about it online besides the marketing materials released by Apple/Acura. Does anyone know if it will automatically turn on your ipod when you turn the car on and if it will automatically shut off when you turn the car off? Also, will it remember the song you were last listening too?

I can't wait this comes out so I can listen to my subscription purchases in my car easily. Unfortunately it probably won't happen for a while...

Talking

I'm getting a non-navi and glad I did. Would rather drop the extra CDN$3k into a pimp aftermarket unit, AVIC-N2, than the limp one acura offers. The navi IS top o' the line but no mp3? no dvd? at least w/o upgrades... just means more $$$ being shelled out. Still, it looks a lot sexier than the non-navi.

I only say that b/c the ipod connection will have a power supply connected to it that is grounded well...in my experience connecting an mp3 player (i.e. the Dell Jukebox that I have) to an aux in connection with a cigarette lighter connection causes a crazy ground loop......plus my wife's ipod is far superior to my Dell player....
