2005 TSX Canadian Dealer Invoice Price
Hey,
I'm planning to buy a 2005 TSX soon, and I was wondering what the dealer invoice price is for the Canadian dealers.
I checked the "FAQs... 04/05 TSX Information Center" thread but that only has pricing in USD.
Any help would be appreciated.... and does anyone know if there are any special promotions coming within the next little while?
Thanks,
Kam

That's sounds right. Mine was $33,267 + $1,200 PDI + 7% GST for the same package. I haven't gotten any feedback that would indicate that our pricing was anything but good/fair.

Just "good/fair" though? And here I thought I had made a better-than-average deal. Oh well, still good compared with those who just pay sticker price. I don't know if there are any of those, but the dealer told me there are plenty.

I paid that a week after the car was released in Canada. Got the wheel locks, mats, splash guards and 2 services (Every Acura comes with first 2 services) as well
$33, 500 to be exact.

Okay, then I guess I did okay, but not exceptionally well. On the other hand, the 2005 price was higher (both the MSRP and the Freight/PDI, if I recall). So comparatively, I did a little better?

Most will think that I wasted too much $$ on the extras but it was worth every penny.

Speaking of dealership invoice price, does anyone know how much dealerships pay for a basic and Premium EL? My parents are thinking about buying one for my sister.

I don't know the price on the EL....but you could go to this site. The membership fee gets you something like 4 or 5 queries (ie. you can pull 4 or 5 invoice requests).
I paid $23,000 plus GST for a 2001 EL Touring with Block heater, Mudflaps, 1/2 nose mask, and spoiler. We thought we got a pretty good deal, as I believe MSRP at the time was $26,000. For 2002, they dropped MSRP to around $23,000 or so....
Good Luck! The EL is actually a really nice first car--good ride, okay power, etc.

Paid $32499 before taxes and fees about 3 weeks ago. Manual, non-navi. And then got $750 off on grad rebate on the after-tax total.
That is, the TSX, not EL. Came w/ wheel locks and cargo nets.

The engine was weak (can't expect much from a 1.7) but the ride was almost same as TSX (a little softer than a TSX but definitely stiffer/sportier than a Corolla). Have you had any problems with your EL? Anything you don't like about the car?
I've never had any major problems. There was a factory recall about some sort of fuel line attachments, but that was fixed for free, and there was an issue with the front shocks that was also fixed for free.
I have had this kinda annoying buzz coming from inside the dash, but that only happens at higher speed (over 70-80kph) and only on certain road surfaces.
The ride is definitely a bit sportier than a Civic, but it's not really as well sorted out as a TSX (TSX handles bumps better, and maintains its attitude in corners well). The interior is pretty quiet except on the highway, when you get the contant drone of the engine turning at almost 3000 at like 110-120kph. (but, it's not as bad as in a Civic, since it's got better sound damping).
There's not a whole lot I don't like about the EL. I'm basically going to be getting a TSX because I want more power, a little bit better ride, and a more luxurious interior (since my EL is the "stripper" version with just cloth seats and whatnot--no heated seats, no sunroof, etc).
There were a few things that bug me, though--and it's only because these features came along in the next few model years: *variable* intermittent wipers and automatic climate control (the former which showed up the year after mine and the latter which became part of the premium package in 03-04 [?] and I think is now standard on all models). Oh, and there's the LED instrument lighting which was introduced in 2004 (my version has red/orange normal backlighting--but not as pleasing as the older RSX lighting....almost Pontiac-esque, but not that bad)

Sounds like a good deal.
Any ideas if they will drop the '05 prices when the '06 arrives at local Toronto showrooms? Don't know if I can wait that long.
