2004 is faster

I was doing a search on mytelus.com trying to compare the 04 and 05 tsx and i noticed a difference in Acceleration 0-100 km/h.....the 04 goes 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds and the o5 in 7.8 seconds..here is the link

that's hilarious considering the only thing different from the 04 tsx is that the 05 has:

heated mirrors, power passanger seat, backlit steering wheel, and the "beep". I guess the heated mirrors MUST be weighing the car down.

but come on now... i don't believe those numbers. if you look at that website, it lists the transmissions exactly the same and even the weight of the cars are the same... that website has bad data.

EDIT: my car has the green key ring, gasp, the 05s don't!!!!

But I do have the heated mirrors on my 04. It's just that they probably cheaped out on their tester, went for a less talented, and less costly one, and now it reflects on their numbers. Shame on them!

The 05 shouldn't be an inch slower.

Even the same car will test different numbers on different days due to atmospheric conditions.

But it says the curb weight is exactly the same, isn't the 05' a tiny bit heavier due to extra features?

Atmospheric conditions, tire wear, driver...all of these can have something to do with the variance.

Then again, that power passenger seat and the XM antenna may throw in some serious weight

Hey cool ... I have a limited edition fast TSX

I knew those illuminated steering wheel controls would slow the TSX down

I don't think the 2004 is any faster than the 2005, but it is more "Euro!"

I would have thought that the power passenger seat would add some weight. At least a few pounds.

I need to stop in and grab that motortrend. Did they have any conclusions as to the difference in speed? Slight weight difference? difference in power output of a green as compared to broken in motor?

Speaking of green I think the Green Ring Society should make a comeback.....

actually i do believe some internal engine/trans parts have changed, maybe that's what is causing a slight speed/weight change?

You need to elaborate on this. Because if it's true, it sure has been hushed down really well.

Have you people completely lost your minds?

Because someone reports two different times for an 04 and a 05 we're actually speculating as to why it could be faster

If anything the '04 should be slower because we have to haul around all this extra money we saved.
