1st ticket in the TSX.....

Tinted windows

I walk out to my car after work yesterday at 430pm and there was a ticket on my window for my tint "tints"

SOB

I have never even been pulled over Oh well, it was bound to happen sometime and I knew it was illegal when I got them but I am still a little pissed just because I was in Chicago and my car was parked. You would think the City of Chicago Police Dept has much more important things to do

Guess not.

thanks Dan

I already know it was my fault. But I still think its shitty that Chicago city cops with all the criminal behavior going on have nothing better to do than ticket a parked car! + my front windows are only 35%, its not like they are 5% - blacked out.

Go ticket one of those ghetto trash folks in their shit mobile with 5% tints

oops. snotty Stephy coming out.

If I keep getting tickets I will probably remove all the tint and then re-tint the rear 3 windows blacked out- black out the back like that one dude did at the Chicago meet with the Greddy exhaust forgot his name

Too bad the cop didn't see you...he probably would have honked and whistled, then let you go! lol

Really, that sucks, especially since it was not a moving violation. How expensive pf a ticket is that?

So far my car has been a okay with tints I think the same 35 % front 20 rear.

The legal limit is 70% in ny I think haha... but its not even really a tint at all.

In the other thread brakejob (a Bay Area cop) said that his cruiser is tinted to the legal limit so that he can just pull up and compare.

I resemble that remark!

My question is.....how did they test your window? Normally you need to have access to both sides of the window for a photometer to properly read how much light is actually transmitted.

You can beat that ticket if you really want, but you have to get your windows legalized before your court date

$25 fine? You might as well just keep paying them. It's like a user fee.

I was going to do this anyhow I think. I dont know what it is but some kind of particles from around that area (maybe railroad dust) have been sticking to my clear coat

Just bought a clay bar.... but I need to figure out how to get it off the plastic panel between the doors that runs vertical

Carefully scrubbed on Dawn should do it.

Didn't you say you were at a brass milling plant? I'd say you have metal particles!!!!

You need that car cover, but be careful with it on a dirty car.
