1st New Car and he goes nuts!!

Just got my 1st ever brand new car and it's an '05 TSX, PWP auto w/navi. Do I have good taste or what? I am beside myself with excitement and am running up and down the cyber-halls screaming like an idiot. Oh, alright....maybe it's not quite that bad, but close.

I have been reading this forum since before I decided that was the one I wanted. I waited until I got it to join. This seems to be a really informative site with a lot of helpful people in the community, I look forward to being a part of it.

I originally wanted a Mazda3 but after the test-drive my wife said she didn't like it (a big purchase like this has to have the wife-approval-factor). We upped our spending limit and I immediately went to an Acura dealership nearby. Well, after the test-drive of a TSX I didn't even bother going to test drive the Nissan Altima V6 I was considering, the TSX was it. It totally aced the W-A-F as well.

I should point out that we briefly considered the TL. I liked the more aggressive styling and certainly the horsepower was appealing. But, it wasn't as fun to drive as the TSX and that's more important than horsepower to me.

Sorry to carry on (told you I was excited). Soon as I get some creative photos I may post them. But, only if they are creative because we all know what a pwp TSX looks like. Take care and enjoy your cars, I'm enjoying mine.

Howdy cmf, I am in a little town called Fate, about 30 miles east of downtown Dallas.

Thanks, everybody, for the warm welcome.

Congratulations!
We got our '05 TSX in December, and the first day I drove it I went through an s-curved road, perhaps a little faster than I should have. I couldn't believe how well the car handled that turn (in the face of *my* stupid driving), and I yelled "Holy S***!!!!, with a huge grin on my face.
It is now a month and a half later and I'm still grinning over this car's handling.
Enjoy your new TSX!

I am in the same crazy happy train that you're riding on. I just put a deposit last night at 7:30pm on a 2005 Black on Black Auto TSX with Navigation! Who's on the happy train with us! LOL

YOU BET! LOL. I already am looking into:

Definites:

Tinting my windows
Purchasing the OEM Kit on Ebay
Lowering the car (most likely springs, shocks and camber kit...doing it right)

Maybes:

Picking up some used rims from someone for the summer
(then picking up some nice forged rims next summer when I have some more money)
Greddy Evo Catback

That's it for now. No plans to add a CAI or Header anytime soon.

No CAI eh?

You could always just install it as SRI if you're worried about hydrolocking.

Not worried about the hydrolocking since I have a CAI setup on my Integra which is much lower than what my TSX will be. I just want to wait on that.

Oh, add a M3 Rear Lip Spoiler on my list of Definites

Definitely get the Comptech Sway bar! I installed mine about 2 weeks ago. I feel that this is one of the very best mods.

I already ordered my comptech rear sway and short shifter, I also got a car cover and mats. The real mods will come once the snow is gone.

Really...I'll have to look into that as a mid summer or end of summer modification.
