"Calling all Coupé buyers - take an official look at Honda's newest car, which will make its debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January.

This is the Accord Coupé, and its bold design follows hot on the heels of the Civic. The sketch shows how the next Accord - due in 2008 - will look, and reveals a sporty two-door variant is on the cards.

Exciting features include a quad-tailpipe exhaust system, which is integrated into the diffuser-style rear bumper. Angular tail-light clusters and flared wheelarches add to the purposeful appearance."


The UK currently doesn't have a Coupé Accord - the Type R was the last of it's kind when Honda decided to move up market against BMW/Audi/MB/Lexus with its current design.
So, if any one here is attending the Detroit Show in January, please take along a damn good camera and get as many shots as you can of inside, outside, topside, underside, back......you catch my drift.
Given our Accord is your TSX, I wonder if/how/where this feeds into the Acura stable should we get it?

Anyway, in the meantime, let's discuss this new design path Honda (and Acura?) are potentially treading, especially if the current Euro Civic hatchback is anything to go by - concept to production with nary a change.
