06 TSX Navi or 07 TSX Non-navi?
Background: I've been researching/shopping for a car these past few months. I've been struggling with this decision because I have a couple of financial commitments in the coming future (engagement ring and looking to buy a house). So with that, I've been looking for a car that is luxurious, fun to drive, and a sound investment. I've looked at a long list of cars and I've come full circle with the TSX.
So my decision is between:
2007 TSX new CGP with quartz interior without navi
One of the biggest turn offs about the 07 is the redesign slated next year. I don't really want to spend a lot of money on a car and see a better redesigned car out a year later...
Or
2006 TSX Milano Red Navi, black leather, 8k Miles, listed price of $25,987.
I’ve never bought a used car before, but I’m not really worried about an used Acura. Everything checks out off Carfax (car was personally owned in PA for 8 months and then sold at an auction in PA and listed as a fleet vehicle. No accidents or damages listed). And no doubt I'll get a lot more car compared to the 07.
If I buy a TSX, I don’t really have a preference with the Navi option. It would be pretty nice to have the navi, especially since I keep reading good things about it off AZ. If I go with the 2007, I’ll probably buy a Garmin and that way I could switch it in and out of my gf’s and my car. Given it won’t be as nice, but it’ll be more convienent.
I’ll probably go check out the cars next week and see what I can do with the prices. So what do you guys think? Go for the 07 or 06 (hopefully it's not a no brainer)?
Thanks in advance

I'm in pretty much the same situation.
The used 06 tsx probably has more room for price negotiation. But on other hand, if you're spending over 25-26K on a car....it should be brand new. That's just my opinion.
I was all set to go with an 07 TSX....but i'm having issues with my insurance skyrocketing with a new car purchase. ((currently have a 2001 Maxima which is cheap to fully insure.))

For 25K you mid as well get an new 07. If you can talk them down a few K then get the 06. And keep in mind that the all new TSX will be an 09, not an 08. Although it will likely be out sometime in the spring of 08. But I still don't see how that makes a difference. Whether you get the 06 or 07, you'll still be getting a car a year before the all new replacement is out. What does the year matter?

When will the all new 09 TSX arrive in showrooms?
It seems like the Acura dealers have such a low stock of 07's already...as if the all new TSX is almost ready for delivery.

I've never heard a navi owner wish they didn't get the navi, but I've sure seen people wish they got the navi on their non-navi. You also get voice-control with the navi.

If you qualify for American Honda Finance Corporations's low finance rates - you may find the net long-term cost of a new 2007 to actually be less than a used 06.
Also, if you think you might not keep this car for 5 years or more . . . there are AHFC special lease terms (apparently available only in some regions) that could make a lease an attractive alternative.

If you do not get the navi, you will regret the decision sometime in the future. I came from a 2005 non navi to a 2007 navi. I am so glad I made the switch. The navi is so worth it.

thanks for all of the help/input, I'm going to go to the dealership on Sunday and see what I can do with pricing on both vehicles. Hopefully I'll come back with a TSX and pictures to post ...

Needs more Lemon Pledge
+1 for the Nav.
It integrates SO WELL with all the other features (radio, climate control,etc..) I could not imagine the car without it.

I have 3 reasons for you to get the '06
1. Nav is the one thing i really regret not getting in my '06;
2. black interior is so much nicer then grey....;
3. red is an awesome color that few people get.
also a new car doesn't stay new forever...the 06 is more of an economical deal becauseyour getting more bang for the buck.

I don't want to rain on the navi parade, but there is a cost factor to consider. You can get a brand new car for the cost of that used one, without navi.
List on the navi option is about $2000, but I think folks have been paying as little as $1500 or so for it based on prices quoted here (versus non-navi models). Down the road, it probably will make a $1000 difference in value (a hair more earlier, less as the car ages).
Red cars are speeding ticket magnets.

07's are low stock because 08's should start arriving soon.

BTW, I've driven a Milano Red TSX for four years with zero tickets. Red cars are not speeding ticket magnets...speeding drivers are speeding ticket magnets. My

This is true. I got the lease option and only pay $350 a month for my brand new 07 w/ navi. This would be a great option if you don't drive many miles.

Update: So I went to Radley to take a look at the used 06, I dealt with a really poor sales person and they wouldn't budge on the price. So I walked out, he called me a couple of times as I was driving to Pohanka and offered me $26450 before TTL on a 07 without navi (free lifetime oil changes and inspections).
Went to Pohanka and was able to pin them against Radley and got a new CGP with ebony interior no navi for $26700 OTD!! with a free set of all season floor mats, free lifetime inspections, and my first oil change free. The customer service was great and the sales manager was very reasonable. Definitely recommend Pohanka over Radley.
The navi in the 06 was impressive, but it wasn't a feature that I really needed. Especially with the deal I got for the 07, I don't mind using a Garmin (it was apparently a slow day at Pohanka and I really lucked out).
Thanks everyone for your help and input! I'm really excited about the car (picking it up on Monday) and now I'm officially part of the AZ family!

the speedometer? I think the other guy was saying the speed of the car is more accurate because it's connected to the vehicle. The one on tomtom is not as accurate because it only finds the average of the distance over the time elapsed until the tomtom makes a new satellite update.
