You know right now, all the 08's are on special from the dealers in order to remove inventory for the upcoming 09's. I think Honda of America has a special lease offer and what not until the beginning of April.

Does the 07 give you the actual psi for each tire when you press SELECT at the "Tire Pressure OK" screen? 08s do but I didn't know about it until after I got the 08 so I never looked on the 07.

Another thing to note...Hondata has already cracked the 06s ECU, but not the 07/08s.
So if you're planning on modding...go with an 06 .

the dealer had an 06 in the lot. it already had a fibreglass spoiler, lo-jack, window visors, and a bunch of other stuff added on. but it also had some cosmetic paint scuffs or damage from transport and sitting in a lot for a year. probably some guy was going to buy it new and backed out after everything was added. we tried to lowball the dealership but they didn't bite, so i figured i could get a brand new 07 for the same price of that 06

So there's something different about the ECU's. May be something as simple as a new algorithm being added in for TPMS, or just a new filename or header. Or maybe the security has been massively cranked up... What has been changed in the ECU that makes the 07's and 08's unable to be reflashed? Is Hondata having a hard time cracking into the later ECUs or have they just not tried Maybe there are even more changes in there that we just don't know about yet. ?

and reading questions about reflashes, not only do they tweak the performance output, but they also have to make sure the emissions values and VIN numbers are ok.
so it could be any number of those things, or nothing at all. it's pretty much a blackbox.

What should I do?
I finally paid off my 2005 Acura TSX loan. I felt so happy today. It was brought on Dec 04 and now it has 17500 miles on it. It's an automatic with nav. It's nighthawk black pearl with little marring. It has clear bra on the hood, headlight, front and front side bumper and mirror clear bra. It also has 4 optional snow tires with honda steel rims. The yokohama snow tire has less than 300miles on them. How much do you think I can sell it privately or as a trade-in? I am tempting to trade it in for a used, well taken care of 06+ TSX, without going into significant debt again Or maybe I should trade it in for another brand.

Let me help you!
Has TPMS been as annoying as I've heard from people? For example, fluctuating with the weather and when you're getting new rims?
Anyway, I'm glad I got my 06 when I did. I guess I lucked out...I hadn't researched it fully (ie: the only difference I knew from the prior years was that it had bluetooth...I bought the TSX to go with my bluetooth phone lol)

tpms does fluctuate. for instance, the pressure reads higher after you've been driving around some, vs. if it's cold out and you just started the car and took the reading (lower).
but the change is relatively marginal. when you get new rims, i've read it's either you find ones that support the tpms sensors, or you just nix it altogether and deal with the ! on your gauge cluster.

Dealing with the "(!)" on your gauge cluster ... augh. I make a point of resetting my "change oil" service warning to 100%, then changing the oil in a couple of weeks. I HATE-HATE-HATE having to hit "ok" on my car every time I drive it just to use the MID. And the bright orange "(!)" is glaring during the night. (I turn my instruments down to "2" at night.)
