Exclamation 04 TSX road noise

Hello, my 04 TSX A/T with 150K miles and started developing what sounds like road noise over the past 6 months (getting worse). You start hearing a "whirring" sound which almost sounds like uneven tired tread and comes from the front drivers size wheel area. You start to hear it at 40mph and it gets louder as you drive faster. Shifting into neutral does nothing as far a the noise is concerned either. Since then, I've replaced all of the tires (it was time anyway). An ex-mechanic friend said it had to have been the wheel-bearing and I've replaced the whole thing but the exact same sound is STILL there!

Any thoughts on this before I shell out $$ on diagnostics?

Thanks!

A bad wheel bearing tends to get louder if you turn. For example a bad left front bearing would get louder as you turn right and 'load' the bearing.

He's saying he replaced the bearing....I think.

OP...what type of tires did you buy, and is it only on certain roads? Is your brake dust shield dragging on a rotor?

My OEM tires got louder the more treadwear I had. It was really noticeable on older gray looking asphalt or grooved concrete surfaces compared to the fresh or darker asphalt. I went with a non-directional tires I can rotate and/or cross-rotate with every oil change. Cross rotating is very important to keeping tires noise down and having even wear. This has kept the TSX a little more quiet as the tread wore down (2nd set of Conti DWS).
