Upgrading Wheels on 96 TL 3.2
I have stock 15" alloy wheels on my 96 TL 3.2.
Has anyone has found a perfectly fitting - 5 spoke wheel from newer Acura models - (don't want aftermarket) that will work correctly on a 96 TL.
like maybe
02-04 Acura RSX 16X6.5" wheels ?
- OR -
04-06 TSX 17X7" wheels ?
I know many wheels from other Acuras have the same bolt pattern, and technically will "fit" on my car,
HOWEVER,
If the offset is too different, or there are other slight but important differences, problems can arise later on, like wearing out wheel bearings too soon, etc.
I talked to one guy who put on 17"X8" wheels from an 04 TL on his 1st gen. They "fit" and LOOKED great - but after a few thousand miles began to develop problems because the wheels were just too different from the original specs.
So... feedback on any successful swaps you may have done with newer 5 spoke Acura wheels, would be APPRECIATED. thanks much!

anything non oem for that specific model will eventually cause problems, thats just the way stuff is, they created the best thing for it and if you decide to change it then you have to deal with the problems that arise from it

TSX wheels are your best bet.
2nd gen TL wheels will work as well.

Regarding TSX Wheels -
Hi Ken1997TL,
You replied that "TSX wheels are your best bet".
In my original post I had mentioned the possibility of the 04-06 TSX 17X7" wheels.
If you know, is that the best TSX generation to use?
thanks very much for replying,
