Ball joints!

Found the source of a squealing problem today. lower ball joint on the drivers side has a torn seal making the grease in it dry up and make a squeal. Shop quoted me 130 to replace should i shop around or drive for a little longer?

If ball joint is not damaged (turns w/ out looseness), then new grease and boot will fix.

Lowev Ball joint Boot is about $7 from Acura and clip can be reused if careful or get new one w/ the boot.

good luck

Yes, if the ball joint is sound (no in/out movement-looseness when cleaned). Clean w/ brake cleaner, regrease w/ wheel bearing grease and partially fill new boot. I used a pair of oring hooks to spread the holding ring and engage on the boot. A bit tricky but do-able.

good luck

i got a can of liquid wrench white lithium grease and sprayed the ball joint. Only reason i got it because it forms a coat when applied
