vigor motor/transmission the same as UA2 96+ 2.5?
yeh i'm about to get back my old 96 2.5tl and the trans is shot. i'm debating what i'm going to do with it. I wanted it for my wife so she doesn't have to drive the Jeep Cherokee for work anymore.
I've debated, is the vigor 2.5 is the same engine/transmission and can be swapped in just change sensors etc? I dont see many UA2 96+ 2.5 motors or transmissions for sale but see a few vigor 2.5 low mileage units from japan for sale.
Or from a pm from Inspired[RUS] about his 5spd vigor swap
"I took my 5 m\t with all stuff (like pedals, clutch, fittings, tubes and so on) from honda vigor, most difficult was to install a clutch pedal. Acutally it was only a problem. 5 m\t has the same "bell" (sorry, can't remember right definition) fits exectly as A\T, and only 2 rear engine mounting pads need to be replaced to M\T ones. Of course there are some nuances with electrical part (like ground wire to A\T selector, connecting rear moving lights), center console (AT Selector gap is not big enough) and dashboard, but its not difficult at all."
So if I can find a suitable car for my wife, I plan to redo the 2.5 with 5spd swap and maybe...turbo??
