Are we talking about a 2.5L or 3.2L engine? Curious, however response is same for both.

A little ticking on startup is not unusual. It takes oil pressure a few seconds to deliver oil to all bearings and parts and there is some noise before the oil pressure reaches working level. Virtually all engines do this w/o problems. If you want to aovid any ticking/noise on startup, you can use the 2-step startup method. First allow engine to catch, but switch key OFF immediately. This prevents any noise, but does pre-load bearings w/ oil. Restart immediately and you should experience very low or no noise on start.

A low operating temp (well below 1/2 way point on temp gauge) indicates a faulty thermostat. A good thermostat will warm the coolant temp to slightly below mid-range of temp gauge w/i 5-minutes or less of operation. Replace a faulty thermostat w/ a new OEM thermostat to get the quick warmup to operating temps and resultant improved fuel efficiency.

good luck

yeh its a 3.2tl, but it wasnt ticking before the head job but maybe thats because my heads were messed up,...but the thing with the temp is that you know its like an F with 2 squiggly lines under it, the regular is for it to be on the 2nd squiggly line and just have 2wave oscillations, sort of like a sideways "S" on the 2nd squiggly like thing, so today while i was on the highway, it went slightly below the 2nd squiggly line, now i dont know what would cause that since i just changed the thermostat like 1month ago, but thanks for the feedback tho
