Purple spark plugs...
Ok, so recently its been a little more difficult to start the TL. Couple more cranks before she fires. So today I pull my plugs. They've been in for about 20,000 miles. Ngk iridiums.
When I pull them out, the ceramic insulator is purple. Never seen purple before. The ground strap is red and black. What the heck would do this?
The gap is .44 and the car runs and drives ok. Or at least it seems to.
I will try to post a pic, when I can get Photobucket to work.

Also, when I replaced the muffler a few months back, it instantly turned blue/gold/purple

Some 2-cycle oils have blue dyes. That's what I would suspect (blue dye) from some source (additives?).
If everything else is OK, I wouldn't think this is your problem.
good luck

I put a cheap set of Ngk's in yesterday, and after about 5 miles, I pulled one out, and the outer metal ring was black, and the ground strap was white. I'm just confused.
