Mileage Gauge

My mileage gauge stopped working at 171,XXX. Has this happened to anyone else or just me?

Mine stops working sometimes. My speed sensor is good because I can see speed through OBD port. It is some wiring issue.

If speedometer continues to work, I would first try some brute force repair.

Smack the top of dash panel and/or gauge assembly forcefully w/ your hand. It may be hung up and you can bump it free. If that doesn't work, I would try removing and attempt to get some light lubricant (WD40, et al) sprayed into the mechanism and hopefully get it restarted.

If these don't work, go for a used gauge panel from car-part.com or send your gauge panel to one of the online repair sites for repair.

good luck
