metallic noise while driving
hello,
When im driving with the windows down, there is a metallic tapping noise that seems to be coming from the front wheel area. the sound does not happen when the car is stopped. i have had my CV joints replace, so i know that is not the issue. I have read other posts about the brake calipers not releasing, but this noise is more of a metallic noise. Any advice would be great.
thanks

I'm back after trying what your posts suggested:
-I checked all the tires for metal, screws, rocks, etc., and found nothing.
-Checked the lower ball joints and both had clearance between the rim.
The things i did find were:
-that the noise gets faster as the cars speeds up.
-both my front brakes had all of the pads rubbing on the rotor.
The tapping noise is something clearly related to the wheels moving and the pads rubbing the rotors means that i need to clean off the slider pins. but my question is whether the metallic tapping noise is related to the rubbing brake pads or something completely different? Also does anyone know how to clean off the slider pins or have any DIY instructions?
Thanks
Todd
