Disable Factory Alarm?

I have a '98 3.2 TL and continue to have problems with the alarm going off randomly. Last week the dealership diagnosed that the horn was drawing too much juice and thus had disabled the brake lights and locked the trans, which has since been fixed by disabling the horn. However, the alarm continues to go off randomly, and now it is even worse b/c there is no horn to alert you, so the chances of a dead battery on the AM are mounting!!!! Is there a way to totally disable the factory alarm? The dealership told me no, which I find hard to believe. I searched and saw it mentioned, but never found a definitive answer. Any comments would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure that will work? One dealer told me that it couldn't be disconnected and another told me to short out the 2pin hood sensor w/ a paper clip. Now I just need to find the hood sensor!! =)
