Ball Joint question

Hi, I need to replace the front upper and lower ball joints. I found that the upper bolt on adjustable ball joints for the 1994-97 Accord and 2.5TL have the same exact part number. Now, my question is, will the regular press-fit balljoint for the Accord fit my TL since the bolt on part numbers are the same? If this works, I will only have to spend around $50 instead of $300.

I think the lower ball joint is different (slightly heavier), but this is just my recollection from when I replaced lower ball joint boots on my 2.5TL. I found the boots were larger than Accord boots by a small amount.

A used ball joint should be inexpensive or aftermarket ball joint will be much less than OEM.

good luck

Ok, I think I found a lower ball joint on amazon made by Beck Arnley http://www.amazon.com/Beck-Arnley-10...omotive&carId=, but will an upper ball joint fit the upper control arm?

The upper A-frame ball joint is not intended to be separated from the frame. It may be possible to remove the frame and press a new ball joint into the frame, but I've never done that. Used or aftermarket assy part is best for low cost.

Honda/Acura ball jts are very good and rarely wear out unless the boot is left damaged for an extended period. The boots are replaceable and very easy to do.

good luck

well get it replaced before your suspension falls apart. If it does, you're looking at a new fender, axle, balljoint, and possibly rim.

the ball joint itself is sufficient. might as well do both sides while you're at it.
