Alarm/transmission problems

Hey all,

We have a 97 3.2 TL and there are a couple of problems I'm wondering might be related.

First off, the drivers side door sensor has been broken for a long time. Recently we have had problems with the alarm going off on it's own. We have been able to keep the alarm off for the most part by using the key to reset the system. Shortly after the alarm problems the transmission wouldn't shift out of park. Using the override we have been able to get around, and eventually I noticed the "brake" fuse was burnt. Replacing the fuse allowed us to shift again without override, but recently we had the alarm go off again and the transmission wouldn't shift out of park again.

I'm wondering how the alarm would blow the brake fuse. Any ideas?
