Hello, i currently have an 97 Acura 3.2 tl with 230,000 miles on it. The car has been working fine recently but now when i start my car and accelerate it begins to shake/rumble like its about to die, if i go above 30 mph it doesn't shake but when coming to a stop it starts up agn, my check engine light has been on and i checked the code. It read P1491 which had something to do with the EGR valve. I checked the EGR valve but it was clean and no necessary gunk. I've read a lot of other posts claiming it could be spark plugs. Anybody have a good idea what the problem could be? I'm willing to check every possible aspect before taking it to a mechanic. Thanks

I'm a month late, but you likely need to pull the manifold to get the EGR goo from where it enters the intake itself. The valve can be clean as a whistle, but these cars are known to plug up on the EGR ports within the manifold itself. I took mine to a mechanic for a clean...too much junk to remove first for me.
