ABS woes - need a diagnosis

Hey fellas,

I had my ABS modulator/accumulator unit replaced on my 3.2TL about a year ago. As you know, these things tend to leak after a certain mileage, so I purchased a used one from a junkyard that came off a 96 Integra GSR and had it put it in the TL.

Although both the modulators look similar (all mid 90's Honda/Acuras use the same unit), the locations for the hydraulic lines were slightly different. My mechanic said that he was confident that he had wired up the lines right, since he had to bend a couple into position. After installing the new pump, the ABS worked intermittently, but I assumed that the system needed to be bled properly.

However, now I've noticed something else. When I hit the brakes and the car attempts to engage ABS, my speedometer and tachometer needles go to 0, and the headlights dim slightly. I was wondering whether this is normal? If not, then it may mean that my battery is in need of a change.

Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated? If the unit is wired wrong, I'm just going to throw it out and buy one specifically designed for our TL's so that the hydraulic lines line up like they should.

Hmm...I know this might sound weird, but when the mechanical part of the ignition switch was pooping out on me I had those EXACT same symptoms. My tach and speedo needles went to zero, the abs light came on, and the lights dimmed. I changed my ignition switch and it fixed the problem.
