1999 3.2TL Wont take radio code
My 1999 3.2TL is relatively new to me. I replaced the battery. I have the radio code. But the radio will NOT accept the unlock code...goes all ten times then locks up. I have searched the entire list and only saw one reference to this but no solution. Can anyone give me any ideas. (I did see something about holding 1 & 6 presets while turning on radio - didn't appear relevant. I did see something referencing disconnecting antennae but that didn't seem to be a complete thought.)
Thanks for any ideas - no matter how desparate (as I am).

Weird, You can call Acura but they will want to charge you like maybe 200$ to remove the stock radio and get the serial number from behind the stereo, I say keep trying or try to remove the stereo yourself.....But be careful and good luck

Just remove the stock radio and write down the serial number, go to the dealership, and ask them for the code. They may or may not ask for the registration/identification, they didn't ask me. There is a how to on how to remove it, it's pretty easy, there was an alternate method in the thread too.

There were suggestions that the antenna had to be disconnected from the back of the unit before the radio would take the code. I did this, but it didn't help me.
Finally, I tried disconnectiing the positive cable from the battery. I was taking off the negative cable when trying to reset the radio. I waited a minute or so, replaced the positive cable and punched in the code. Once, twice, three times, maybe four (I can't remember) and the radio magically went on.
I got the impression that the radio code had to be entered several times in succession for the code to work.
I'm not positive, as I'm not adventurous enough to disconnect the battery again.
