My '97 TL, freshly clean

For those who don't go into our Wash and Wax forum, I present to you these photos.

Andrew (PortlandRL) and I spent several hours cleaning the TL which is primarily driven by my fiancee (wife on the 19th ) so the car has been shall we say, neglected a bit. Mechanically its been well maintained and it drives just like it did the day I got in in 2003.

Check it out!

Nice job portland and Ken. but wait was your car ever modded??? Its hard to believe that you have been here for so long and your car is stock...

CGP I am pretty sure that its portland's house. (Tucson in driveway and RL in garage). whoevers house is it, looks like nice neighborhood...

Yes thats Andrew's house not mine.

My TL's exterior is stock and always has been. Its the engine and stereo that have seen the mod bug.

The car looks fantastic! I used to check the wax/wash forum from time to time and always hoped to see a detailed first gen. Finally you guys detailed one, and a black one at that! I wish I could detail like that so mine would look this shiny.

Once again great job; she looks like new.

Yes I do..

A certain someone hit a small deer and I grabbed that 2.5 bumper for cheap..

It fits but not as well as I had hoped. If you were to actually stare at it up close, you'd notice it doesn't quite line up in certain spots. But I figured with nearly 200,000 miles on it, there wasn't much point in spending a lot of coin on it.

from what i can see it looks really nice on there.. what did u do with ur 3.2 bumper..? how much did u get ur 2.5 bumper for..? mine was complety ripped in half and i plastic welded on both sides then put some flexable filler on there and looks like nothing ever happened... lol

3.2 bumper, i sold it on craigslist. The paint was cracked on it but otherwise in good shape.

I got the 2.5 bumper for 50 and the paint is in good shape and matched.

Ha, I doubt it. Our 1st gens are built in Japan, while yours is built in US which generally means worse build quality. Of course you never know, they might last real long.

I never go on 3rd gen forums, so could you tell me what's the highest millage 3rd gen that you heard of?

Sorry for the late response! I never got around to checking out this thread after I posted.

I really hope mine lasts that long I think I've seen somebody with around 240k on the clock, but I could be wrong.
