I have no idea how they judged. All I know is that the judge is a tuner from Japan that didn't know too much English. The car show was small, prolly around 50 cars only. The JP GS400 won 1st prize.

I talked to the judge for awhile before he was called away to take care of other things, and I talked to the event organiser. According to the organiser, he was as surprised as me when my name was on the list for the award because about three hours into the show, the judge stopped looking at cars in depth. He told the organiser that he already knew which cars were going to win which classes. I was worried because mid-demonstration, he glanced away for a second and walked off leaving me to explain it to another crew member not involved in judging. Same thing happened to the GS400, and that has us shitting bricks.
In any case, sorry for the grumpy face in the photos, I had a bad headache from lack of sleep, exhaust fumes, noise, and ugly "models".
~Cheers~
P.S. My direct competitors were a crew of RHD EF Civics, an an auto RHD S14 with R32 tails, . <- Shitty paint, too.
P.P.S. Whoo hoo! 2800 posts!

They were horrible. Their photographer saw my car and stared at it for a minute, then said, "Look, a Honda sign." That's the future of the United States,.

P.S. Both the taxi and the truck that smashed my quarterpanel and taillight were Fords. I hate those things.

A real JDM-themed car circles around hard to find, rare, and exclusive parts. Your car has alot of these parts, and it's a rare car to boot. They are just pissed off that they don't know what kind of car yours is, and you won. They're thinking to themselves, 'I got all these JDM parts like amber corners, and that guy's stock!', because they don't know that every part on your car is, in fact, JDM."
Hearing that from two of my good friends today has helped me out quite a bit. I really felt alot better after getting off the phone with them today.
Thanks for the love, guys.

What most people don't understand when judging the UA1/2/3, is how rare ANY part of it is. Considering a total of under 80,000 were made during the entire production run of all trims and engines.

Thanks, Blazing and phee!
Right now weight is a big issue and besides the problems I have with the drivetrain right now, I'm getting slower and slower. I can't even break a 90 trap anymore, but hopefully one I replace my bent axles and wheel bearings, I should be able to beat my old times. I want to see how much time I can shave off removing my passenger seat. Weighing 4K lbs. really sucks, haha.

The first and only 3.5L motor in a UA chassis, the aforementioned emblems, visors, grill, lights, door sills, shift knob, valve stem caps, Tanabe suspension, aforementioned S2K wheels, but unlike most other Hondas, I'm running the rears, not the fronts, wrapped in Bridgestones. Sound system tucked away as to look stock, no el-cheapo components for my lighting anywhere, custom made puddle lights in the doors, and the fact that I have hung with C5-swapped EGs through turns and straights.
