People still active in this section?

Just wondering if any is still active with regards to a 1997 Acura? I have that one that is in the process of being made into a race car. 3.2 V6, caged gutted, that's it so far. No engine or suspension mods yet which is why I'm here. Looking for any performance upgrades.

J32?
im asumming j32a3 from the 04-08 TL...
Which would mean, you would get better hits if you talked to 3g TL'ers as they can give you info on engine mods.

It really depends on which j32 you picked up....
The 2nd gen TL, the J32a2 has better "exhaust" mods, since it has true headers.

The j32a3 has the heads cast into the block, which limits what you can do

And for the record, the 1G TL will get no love for race car builds...
cuz, you can buy a better platform that will out perform what ever you are building....
But on that note, props on building something strange.
You are the guinea pig!!!
Do work son!!!

Put another way, this section is dead...
only people who have 1gs are most likely older ppl who don't mod...or younger ppl that don't mod...

You are the guinea pig

There is likely no after market support for suspension either, unless you custom make it

Turbo that motherfucker and call it a day.

Don't bother with small scale mods

As it won't be a race car, as it will be slow as fuck with small scale mods. Go big or go home. Turbo that motherfucker

thats why i was confused, he said race car...and i was thinking of fast J32 engines..
your 1G aint going to be a race car with the power plant it has, and with the suspension it has...sorry.

you will need to either turbo it. swap engines, swap trannies to get any power out of it
but at that point, you might as well start off with a different platform.

spend the $10k and turbo that motherfucker!!!!!!

sadly, we can't turbo the car. Per rules and staying in certain classes. We have updated the brakes/rotors/custom lines. The suspension is stiffer from the cage. But yeah, engine wise, it's a stock 3.2 v6. And justin, google 24 hours of Lemons racing, you'll see there are plenty of highly in appropriate race cars at those series. That's what we are building this car for. We do "practice" with the local autocross and rallycross club. But overall, it's plan is for NJMP in May. We already got stuck in the B class because it's considered newer. So far into this build we are less than $3000 including a roll cage. So spending $10000 or even money on a turbo seems silly. But I didn't know what aftermarket parts even existed for this engine. By the sounds of it. Sounds like nothing.

ahhh! good look on the details.

there are many people who say they want one thing but either are not skilled or dont have the budget..
when I wrote that last night, I suspected you were one of those people.
sorry that I assumed.

maybe you can swap a six speed manual tranny into the car and it becomes automatically faster, as the gearing is better and the tranny is lighter
but wouldnt know if it would mate up to your 1997 3.2

Idk either. Kind of way I'm here. Closest thing we can do for more power is a direct 3.2 swap from say a newer TL. That is within our constraints. But unless we find a used one cheap, and I don't even know if that would be a direct bolt in swap.
