When I bought my car, it had this little thing inside that made this annoying sqeal everytime the car was off. I thought it was part of the autostarter, but I looked it up for shits and giggles to see what it was - "EL Scanners"
So I found out information about it and I still don't get what the point is.

Now what I am understanding is that it's a theft deterrant, but 40 dollars for a flashy light that makes an annoying noise? DOES IT DO ANYTHING ELSE?
WHO IS MAD ENOUGH TO BUY THIS FOR THEIR CAR?

Someone I knew a while ago had one on his windshield. From the outside its pretty much just a flashy neon gadget. Does not really do anything short of theft deterrent. Waste of money, but looks kinda cool. It may hook up to your alarm system so that when the alarm is on it does its little strobe light thingy.
