What colors did the 96 TL come in?

My cousin has a dark green tl and he keeps saying the color is british racing green. I know honda wouldn't name a color british racing green. I did a search on yahoo and came up with "Juniper Green Pearl" now that sounds to me like the correct name. Does anyone know?

Yes the Juniper Green Pearl is the right name. Racing Green is probably just some stupid name someone came up with. I also know that the champagne color is called Dessert Mist Mettalic.

Thanks for the confirmation on that. He just keeps saying over and over how much he likes the color and how its British Racing Green. I don't think he is going to like it as much when he learns it is called Juniper Green Pearl.

British racing green is a generic colour term used to refer to a dark, often slightly metallic, green colour very similar to the Juniper Green Pearl on the TL. It's fromthe old days of Jaquars, MG's and such which were often painted this colour. So he's not THAT far off in calling it that, even if it's not the official Honda colour code.

I think British Racing Green sounds cooler. While Juniper Green sounds fine, I think the pearl at the end makes it more feminine.

Im not a big fan of green anyways, I am lucky to have the Dessert Mist Mettalic, you dont see very many in that color. Atleast I dont. You should give him the color code for it if he likes it so much he can just go to a body shop and get his car painted that exact color.

I agree they are very similar. But I knew honda wouldn't call a color british racing anything. And the fact he mentions the color in every other sentence I wanted to set him straight.

Actually he does want the car repainted the same color so it looks new again. But I don't see how a car with 145k miles could ever look new again anyway.

Hahaha true true. But im getting pretty close to that number on my '96 2.5 and my paint is starting to show its age. I might need to repaint mine pretty soon, its got a few nicks and bruises. None of which are my fault. It wont look new obviously but it will certainly make a difference.

I do think repaiting it would make the car look better but it doesn't look to bad to begin with. I just don't think the cost to repaint is worth it.

Totally, unless you go to like Macco or something but who knows how good of a job they will do. I guess this is what we get though for buying older used cars. I can live with it.
