Well its official..
My car is totalled, lost control on a curvy road, went sideways into a tree. The side of the car is just bent all the way in. Walked away with a bump on my head a a few scratches. Everryone told me im lucky to be alive, I'll post some pics hopefuly tomorow. Thank god I was driving this car, the 1t gen TL is safe. Take it easy on the roads, I got lucky.
Oh btw, some of the stuff will be for sale soon, including clear bumper lights.

Yea my car is gone. None taken, I know I am lucky, but its just more the lesson to be careful no matter how good of traction you might get on a road, take turn easy especially i nthe winter. The next car im going to get will probably be something heavy like a Q45, I wont feel safe in a little car.

All I can say is it happens when you least expect it, ive been a great driver the whole time ive had this car, never once have I lost control without me trying. Just be careful on those windy roads or any other steep curvy road, always take your time especially during these cold times. Im lucky to walk away from this, but someone else easily could not have.

A year ago I lost my "baby" my '88 Accord with 31,000 miles on it. Thats right, it was basically brand new. But thanks to some black ice, it was cosmetically destroyed and I had to sell it for parts.
But.. on the bright side it had me move up to my TL, life has moved on and I enjoy my car.
Glad to hear you're ok.

I bought it from an old man. I had to replace the tires and belts. I had a BRAND new car basically. He garaged it and never used it beyond going to the store. It even smelled new.

Atleast you guys know the TL will save your life... but to a certain extent, just know your driving a car that loves you.

Even the best drivers in the safest cars have accidents. Don't worry about it. If there was nothing you could have done, you can't blame yourself.
It was these same with my Accord, I thought over and over about what could have I done? I was going well under the speed limit, my tires were new and had excellent grip. It was simply an accident that couldnt have been avoided.
Sometimes things happen that you have no control over...

Yea, I laugh at my accident now, a lot of funny things came about. Someone asked me where my jacket was (I usually put it behind my seat), and I look behind my seat and saw the tree and go "Well, its obviously destroyed by this tree... or i just left it at home". Its funny when you think you hit nothing big, then look behind your seat and see a big ass tree there.

As long as you stick to the stock 15" wheels and proper tires, you'll maintain plenty of grip, even in the worst black ice conditions. (Been there, done that!)

Anyone have any reccomendations for my next car??
This is was im thinking of so far:
-1997-99 Nissan Maxima (auto/manual whatever i find) <--- purchase
-2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R or Spec-V <---- lease
-1997-2000 Mazda Millenia S <--purchase
This is what I have thought of so far, I want something with some good low end and that is somewhat roomy. And also something that will do well with insurance, totalling my TL is gonna sky rocket my insurance
BTW my price range for a purchase would be anywhere from $7k-12k, the higher price ranges need to be newer than 1997. Lease needs to be less than 300 per month with less than 1500 down.

yeah man the other night i was with a chick in her dads denali and she lost control in the rain on a curvy road just like u and we slid sideways into a tree and it smashed the entire back end side of the car and it was totaled and we were all lucky to be alive too.

don't go for the SE-R, you had a TL, if you look at it's interior, you wouldn't want it. The Mazda Millenium looks similar to the TL in a way. how abour a 99 TL if you don't want the same car?
2004 EL are nice too if you don't think they are too small, but they are not that cheap huh...

Yep, everyone has been telling me that it was a close one, I was speechless when I saw my car tonight, I didnt know it was that bad. You cant really comprehend things when your soo disorientated from a crash like that.

holy cow, the driver side back door is TOTALLY pushed in!! glad you are okay, for real b/c that was a close call!
if you are parting out, can i get dibs on your whole gauge cluster?? just the cluster (the whole casing around the gauges which includes the A/C vents...not the gauges faces)

Will buy Fan motor
Sorry to hear about the accident. I crashed my 2.5tl a few months ago right into another accident. The car folded up like a can. Insurance paid 8,000 to fix it. Now i am suffering minor problems. I am need of 1 fan motor. Can you sell me yours?

lol, damn you people are greedy, jk. Actually, if I part it out, my insurance will write me a smaller check for my car, the more they can salvage, the more they give me for my car, and since the airbags and engine are in 100% condition, ill be getting a big check.

Not to mention that I could have easily tore an artery near my heart from the force of the accident, everyone thought i did, went to the doctor today, checked out fine, and now i got a prescription for muscle relaxers and massages! wooohoooo
