Weld my own exhaust manifold?
Hi folks.
Recently, I'd bought a welding kit, and I've been learning to weld pipes.
I have a question about the exhaust manifold of the 2.5 TL.
The 2.5 exhaust manifold looks like this
And I was wondering, can I weld the 2.5 model to look like this
Are the materials different? Would it last?
Thanks in advance.

Oh! And also, if I enlarge the 5 pipes in the enhasut manifold, will I see alot or little performance gain?
What if I also enlarge the catalytic convertor and all the pipes going to the muffler? Will I see a significant gain or little gain?
Thanks in advance again.

first you would have to custom make a exhaust manifold flange that lines up with all the holes from the head and bolts. then you would have to get all the pipes to bend the way you want them to bend. You would have to be an awesome welder using good welders like seam, mig and tig. My suggestion would be get an old exhaust manifold from wherever and go from there you could use the stock exhaust manifold flange and work from there.

If you increase the diameter of the manifold and the piping, then you will lose torque and gain some horsepower, but usually in the picture of the one shown they are engineered to get the most gain based on their design. You can try and make one and hopefully you will see some small gains based on your design.
