I'm just putting this out there. What do you guys think about Type S rims powder coated black on a Black 97 3.2? If anyone has photoshop it would be even better.

 

Heres my opinion on that. Black wheels are ugly, and totally ruin the look of the car. I mean if that's what you want fine, but if you put black wheels on a black car you wont even be able to see the wheels, lol. Least do chrome or silver bro. These people who put black wheels on a car, I just don't get it.

i know some of you guys are against black rims but i have black rims (black pwdercoated c2's)...i guess its your preferance...i'm not in to making my car ricey but i do like jdm look. i guess it looks raceish but there aren't to many imports with chrome blinged out rims so i guess i grown to love the way imports look.....also i don't think our cars are baller enough to sport chrome......but this is just my opinion, i hope i did not upset anyone by letting them know what i think

 

I too had... well bronze C2's. I agree that it gave my car ricey look but it was still nice. I think polished aluminum suits are cars better then chrome. I think chrome are appropriate for 20 inches and up. but thats just my opinion. piece

I did not have them done, I was just thinking about it. I bought some type S rims from e-bay but they are all scratched up and this place I am sending them to is going to refinish them for me. I was thinking what it would be like if I haved powder coated rims on a black car at night with maybe the A sign in silver or yellow or maybe even red. I woudl do it on a 1st gen.

i think if you do powder coat your rims black at least leave the lip polished...i wish my lip was polished.....

 

Black rims are definitely an acquired taste. I mean on some cars they look great, on others, it looks like the car is driving on 4 spare tires. Anyway it is totally a matter of opinion. Personally, I like the dark gray graphite look, but not the black. My buddy has an Integra GSR with black rims and it looks total rice. The huge aluminum wing on back doesn't really help either.

I have colormatched navy c5's. I personally think chrome wheels are for drug dealers and football players.

I think the latest craze in black wheels is due to riceboys with no money trying to make their car look differant for 120 dollars or less. I mean isnt that what all the stupid **** they add to their rigs cost? 120 dollar spyder eyes (20 eyeballs inside of one like a spyder has) taillights, clear (queer) corners, universal mufflers, painted wheels, and much more that glows at night.

well heres my opinion,
i have chrome on mt car now and love them , i was thinking if i get new wheels to go silver but still right now im indecisive.
if i wanted sumtin that would really stand out i would get a 3 piece wheel, get the face painted the same color as the car and leave the lip polished. No One can tell me that wouldnt look hott as hell . on colts car it looks/ looked great and i love the way his car looked when he posted thos pics , personally i would never put anything besides silver chrome or color matched on our car, cuase i think it wouldnt look right for our car cause it looks too big to be tryin to race it.

I think the maroon tl pictured would look beyond nasty with a pair of color matched wheels. That would look soo damn hard. Do it!

If not id do a volk gtn in gold with polished lip in a 18 with some nasty phat tires.

If i could do it again i wouldnt even mess around tho, id get HRE, Forgelines, Simmons or BBS LM .

thats why my rig is for sale still and i have procrastonated and not tried selling it very hard. Next car has been chosen..

98 sc300, right hand drive converted with full 2jz (supra turbo engine) soarer front clip, b&n sports japanese full kit, volk le37 19x10 rears 18x9 fronts, wheels painted top secret gold, car painted top secret gold color, jic ti-carbon 3.5 inch muffler, and full custom 3.5 inch exhaust. the rest will have to wait a bit. I found the car around town hit in the front pretty good for 4300 bucks and a clear title still so here goes nothin. wish me luck rhd rwd inline 6 turbo here i come!!!
