Trannie: abrupt upshifts & hesitation...

when cruising at 60mph and then accelerating (like the torque convertor is getting confuesd). Upshifts are quite abrupt, especialy the 1-2. No slipping, though. ATF fluid is clean. Could it be the torque convertor? Solenoids? Will synth ATF help?

I have the same problem. It happens more when you take off at a higher speed for me. I am n ot sure if it happens that way for you but I've had a tranny flush and it still does it. If you find out anything let me know. I know it has been talked about here before though. Not sure if ther were any solutions though.

How long have you had the problem? I will try either Redline, Lubro Moly or Mobil ATF. I will also have the mechanic remove the 2 exterior solenoids to see if they're sticky.

I've noticed it since like last year. A friend of mine has a RL and it does the same thing but his mechanic said it was some kind of linkage but he left it at that.

Haha, the TL has a SMOOTH transmission compared to previous Honda automatics. Anyone familiar with an Accord before '98 knows what I'm talking about. The Legend was the first to really focus on smooth gear changes and it eventually (along with its 16 bit CPU) went into the rest of Honda's products.
