Thinking of Switching from Amsoil to Mobil 1, opinions?
The guy I got my 97 3.2 TL from has been running Amsoil for the last few years, and serviced the oil & filter himself. I don't have the space to change my own oil, and would rather take it to the oil change joint I've gone to for the last several years. They stock Mobil 1. From a price perspective, it makes more sense to have them use their oil rather than buy the Amsoil and pay extra to have it changed, but I don't know if I will see performance issues. The last time the oil was switched out was in August, so I have a little time yet. However, I laso heard that with synthetics you should change the filter out every 6 months, and the oil should be changed out once a year. Can someone set me straight on all of this ? thanks!

eh. Mobil 1 isn't the best. For the money it probably is.
Rondo changing oil/filter depends on your driving condition. The harder you drive your car, the earlier you'll want to change the oil. Generally, 5k miles is a good mark for synthetic oil, especially for those who do mostly city driving. Changing every 3k would be a waste unless you floored it every single time.
I say make the switch to Mobil 1. You'll like the money saving and your car will still love you.
