stock rims with 225/50/15
Peace,
I got a set of rims off of a mazda 04 sixteen inch but the tires I have are too small they are 205 50 16 they look real bad and I dont mean in a good way. Problem is I have to sell those tires to help get the next ones or I could just sell the rims and tires and stay stock with my rims but with a wide tire and was thinking what is the widest tire I can put on them would it be 225 50 15
Any thoughts on this

225 50 16= 112.5mm sidewall
205 50 16 102.5mm sidewall
the profile is a percentage of the width. If you go wider with the same profile, then your sidewalls will be even bigger. Thats because 50 series tires are 50% of the 205 width. If you want less sidewall and more width. do like a 215 45 15 so, thats 215mm (215-) 45% (215-45) which = 96.75mm
If you are saying the wheels with the tires you have now dont look good, and are too small. it sounds like you have a 6.5 inch wide (205) tire on a 8 or so inch wide wheel(225). Your shit is stretched. Try using the 225 50(or 45 if you want smaller sidewall)16
i dont know what width and offset wheel you are using, or i could tell you more. Wider is not better tho, the shit already understeers enough. And thats even my car, with 1000lb rear springs and 20 series tires or whatever a 30 series is when its stretched. I cant imagine on stock suspension with it too wide up front. eek
