Stereo...

I know its been beat to death, but I have some cash to spend on new speakers...im going to wait on the headunit for the time being. Some guy here is selling some Boston Accoustic NX67 Kortec car speakers (Two 6.5" & two - 6x9") for $100 total. Now I know buying used isn't that good of a deal, but if they are in decent shape, should I pick them up? I want a component system, but I am not really trying to go crazy here..just need to replace the worn out/semi broken stock ones.

What do you guys think?

man don't ever hesitate to ask a question.

Okay as far as BA goes, they are a great brand. I did a search and wasn't sure if the 6.5s are 2 ways or not. If they are, you should go for it. Pair of 6.5 and a pair of 6x9s for 100 bucks... I would but what I suggest you do is see if you can hear what they sound like 1st. Everybody has a different reference on how they want their music to sound like. What kind of music do you listen to??

Bottom line, don't just buy it b/c of the brand. Listen to it and if YOU like how it sounds, go for it. Don't be fooled by the brand..

Well, lets just say its mostly rock and NO rap/hip-hop/thumpy music.

Did a google search and it says: 6.5 in - 2-Way - 320 Watts Peak Power

A bunch of other sites say they are 2-way, but im not sure about the power.

I'm going to look further into these and see if theres any problems with them. If not, I think i'll get them after I hear them.

as long as it sounds good, and has been kept well, I'd go for it.

I picked these up today and they are in mint condition. There is no problems with them whatsoever. You can't even tell they were used except for the marks on the mounting holes. Some middle-aged woman had these in her lincoln town car and had them professionally removed.

However, not all good things come easy with me. Of course I am a dummy and didn't realize but the two of them aren't 6.5s but rather 5x7s. So, I have the rear 6x9s in my car which sound very good, but I need 6.5s now.

So, if anyone here or anyone they know needs some sweet 5x7s, and is willing to trade for some 6.5s (preferrably a comprable boston acoustic set), please, PLEASE send me a PM or post here. I will also start another thread here in first gen and also in sale section.

Try selling them on a Ford message board. Since I used to own an Explorer, 5x7 is a standard for almost all of their cars. Here's one of the boards I frequent when I had my Explorer:

Register and put it in the For Sale forum. Tell them '96explorereddiebauer sent ya. I hope they still remember me.
