Lightbulb Signal Mirrors

I saw an Accord that had the side mirrors with the signals in them.....very very hot......1st gens maybe we can get together and have them make some for us if we have enough people......so how many would be willing to buy them?

I also saw the BMW.....the side mirrors fold up automatically.....whoa......if only..

I've seen those side view mirrors on an accord also. I'm quessing they are equipped with EL sheets instead of LEDs used by Mercedes...does anybody know if they can be used on our TLs?

BTW the automatic folding mirrors are nothing new. Most cars sold in Japan had them since years ago...

I am in as long as the color can be changed easily and the are power mirrors so that way I dont loose the power function to adjust my mirrors.

i met a guy at a TL meet here in houston and he had m3 mirrors on his new gen TL. He said he could adjust the mirrors but the only problem was that you can fold it in and the mirrors are smaller than the factory mirrors. I guess it takes time to get use to looking at a small view of the cars beside you...

don't mind if it doesn't fold in or anything or even if it is smaller (mind you our mirrors are much smaller than 2nd gen ones)
just as long as it looks good, and i can use my power mirrors
i'm sooo in

keep us posted..
anyone do any research on this yet?

There a cat on here last year
who had signals custom built
on his Lex GS. He had his mirrors
brought in to a body shop who used
fiber glass etc and in the end, he
had the signals on his whip.

I tried for the past 2 days searching
on the TL discussion forums but I
couldn't locate the thread nor the
PICTURE that he had included of the
set up.

I almost went this route but was
waiting for an aftermarket company
to make one b/c I can't drive around
without my mirrors

96TL and i had a short discussion about this website a couple of months ago
they sell led signal mirrors that are m3 style

http://www.importtrenz.com/importtre...s/mirror.shtml

don't know if the ones for the 94-97 accord would fit our cars
some ppl say yes, some say no

can someone ask around about this??

i'd do it myself but i never see the light of day anymore.. been working 70-75 hours a week
thanks!!!!

I know a shop in Brooklyn, NY that installs the S500 signals in the mirrors. I've seen their work on a 1995 GS300 (old body style)and it looked incredible. I don't know how much they charge but I'm sure its alot. Those blinkers alone cost $175 each but he said they can probably get some off a crashed MB for cheaper. I was thinking of doing this but I already have sidemarkers and I think it will be too much blinking. If you guys are really serious I'll post the number to the shop. Let me know.

You might as well go with the M3 style mirrors with the led signals. I'm sure if the mirrors don't fit the 1st gen TL's, minor adjustments would be needed to make it look hot. I'm orderin' a set next week for my 99. I was told the accord mirrors wouldn't fit the 2nd gen TLs but VDO has them on his with very minor modifications.

is it possible to modify the factory mirror pods to accomidate L.E.D's? maybe by using a Dremel and some silicone? then by hardwiring the led's to the signal relay, you could get the same results......just a ponder.....aloha....
