VW's have very spotty reliability, I'd be careful.

Repairs on a VW are 3 times more for just the parts just go for the integra.

euro parts and labor = homeless asap

go straight to a japanese car. don't waste the 1500 if you're going to get rid of it anyway. Since you love hatches, you can get a civic or integra. I love hatches myself BUT ONLY b/c it is one of the best car to do an audio setup

Listen, why even put your self in a situation you don't need to be in. Look at all the black dots and "X" marks for reliability. Notice that things get worse as you move left. It's a no brainer. Why sell the TL anyways (if you don't mind me asking)?

Had an 85 Jetta I drove the piss out of.Best car I ever had
Had a 95 jetta that was always brokendown. expensive and never consistant. Broke down in a Mcds drive thru stuck in gear . I nearly torched it if it wouldnt have burnt the building too. Gave it away to some kid.
I say dont do it. Buy the Integra or Civic. I'll sell you a Corolla wagon for 300 bucks.....

my tl is going down hill.. i have spend enough money to bring it back to life and its dieing again... i probably spent 3,000 on repairs in a 1 1/2 years..

it leaks mad oil.. (8 hours to repair and the part is only 20 bucks!)
burning oil( valve seals possible might be the piston rings)
both front upper control arms have play(its pretty bad)
seats are is horrible condition
i was hit and run in a parking lot and my front bumber is missallighed i made it better but not perfect
and the list goes on and on

doesnt pass emissions needs cats

i just want to get some money out of it and move on

Honestly, if you want something reliable, I would stick with a Japanese car. It is hard to beat their track record. As was mentioned before, you might want to stick with a used Civic to hold you over until you can get your Integra or RSX. I have a lot of family up in the T Dot and with all that snow you all have up there, it's a wonder your cars hold up the way that they do with all the salt Canada uses on its roads.

the only problem is that i cant find a good civic for 1500... that car will probably have more problems.. the golf is owned by my buddy and he was treating it very well.. honestly thats the only reason i want to buy it.. all the maintenance was done and he added few extra mods/
