Sadly it's time to sell (97 Acura TL black)
The economy (and my job that requires only public transportation) has left me with little choice but to sell my prized possession. I've only owned this car for 7 months, and it's already time to go. The car has been in my family since it was first purchased. She will be missed.
Although I rarely post, I've used this awesome forum for DIY fixes such as the slow windows. You guys have a great community. I'm 24 years old - I can't really afford to keep this car sitting around with very little use. I could keep it sitting around, but in this economy (especially at my young salary age) I feel like I could do more with the money investing it since I take public transportation 5 days a week. I'm living in the southside of Chicago so the car rarely gets used.
As you can see from the pics, the car is in pretty good condition for its age. The back bumper protrudes out very little, and the leather seats have regular wear. However, the car is in great condition. Almost always serviced at Acura (even oil changes... Aunty was the previous owner and really cared for the car). Just went through it's 90k maintenance with changed the belts and hoses, and all the other goodies. Spent $1500 for all this from the dealership, which makes me even sadder to sell.
It's a 97 Acura TL 2.5 with a little over 90k. Any idea what fair market value would be on craigslist? My aunt has kept all the receipts for service ever since she's owned it. The pully and ac compressor belt broke last week on me and I just got it fixed from Acura last week (another $250). The tires are pretty new too and have 90%+ life left (bought at Sams). I know I won't see this money when selling since it was done at the dealership, but I'd rather the next owners not have any problems for years then making a few extra bucks.
Here are pics of her without being washed just sitting around. She shines even better when washed.

I tried to give it to my younger brother, but he doesn't want it. He's in college and has a Corolla...the guy is in love with the MPGs. I can't blame him - the TL isn't touching the Corolla in gas, but luxury and ride wise it's top of the line in my book.
I'll check out KBB. Thanks!

Too bad the TL has to go. On the other hand, good for the next owner. The TL is my daily ride and will belong to the son soon as he needs a ride.
The TL still gets some attention. People lok and wonder what kind of car it is.
Specially after a car wash.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I've been showing it all weekend. If anyone from the community is interested I am located in Chicago and have posted it on craigslist.

A little off topic, but as soon as I see your post it reminds me of the car I went to see yesterday on craigslist. It's just like yours (black 97 2.5TL) but in MUCH worst condition. It didn't look bad in the picture, and when I spoke to the owner she said that the body was flawless, only a few scratches. Only tears in the front two seats. Besides that the car was for a very good price so I was planning on buying it. Long story short, the car was a piece of crap. Cracked rearview mirrors, missing door handles, dented trunk, missing shift knob, destroyed seats, just to name a few. So much for "flawless".
