Rear Main Seal
Anyone have any problems with this leaking?
I've gotten it 'fixed' by acura once, but it came right back. He said that since the car's so old, seals won't hold anymore.
How easy it is to replace? I imagine it would require a seperating of the engine from tranny - far enough apart to access the seal and replace it, correct?

I don't see that being true, that seals won't hold anymore, I dunno, just sounds fishy coming from a dealer. How old is the car?
I can imagine it is relatively tough to replace, more than I would try.

to replace the rear main seal you will have to remove the transmission and unbolt anything connecting to the rear of the crankshaft. I have not replaced one on an automatic but they are not terrible...just a pain to drop the tranny.
