i recently replaced the factory deck with a pioneer head unit. now i noticed the factory deck has an alarm light going on whenever i lock the car. now that it's been replaced, does that mean my alarm isnt working any more? is there a way to fix it?

Like he said, it should work. You should have the security light on the driver door blinking red when it is armed. The red light on the radio is there to deter thieves from taking the radio. Something about if radio is removed when car is armed, the alarm will sound. If you want to check, lock the car with the window down, wait for ~10 seconds and unlock the door manually and alarm should sound.
