Programing the remote transmitter

Hi all,

Anyone know how to program the remote transmitter for a 1998 TL 3.2 ?

I've found instructions on how to program one for 1999 ~ Present TL's however those instructions dont work on my car.

It seems on 1999+ models can use the new 2002 remote transmitters.

Is there anyone here that has gotten a newer remote transmitter to work on their 1998 or older Acura TL ?

I know someone here knows... dont all speak up at once now.

Has anyone had to re-program their remote transmitter (the door opener) for their First Gen Acura TL ?

If so, do you remember the steps to re-program the remote to unlock the doors?

I did not know we have a remote to open the garage door. Do the Premium 3.2's have this option?

Mola, I assume you are out of warranty? I got a new Remote because my other one quit working. I am still at 40K. Still have 10K to go on the warranty.

I found the instructions...

For those of you who have the Acura Remote Door Openers for your car and require additional remote door openers then here are the instructions...

1) Open the Drivers door (keep it open)

2) Press and hold the driver's door master power door lock switch up in the unlock position. (hold it for the entire procedure)

3) Insert the key in the ingition switch and remove it.
Repeat this four more times within 10 seconds.
then leave the key in the switch. Check that the power door locks cycle to confirm that the system is in the programming mode.
(this step must be completed withint 10 seconds)

4) Press the "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" button on the transmitter. The power door locks (except the drivers) cycle to confirm that the transmitter's code was accepted by the car.

5) To program a second transmitter, press it's "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" button within 10 seconds of the programming the first transmitter.

6) Release the Master door lock switch to exit the program mode.

NOTE: Entering the programming mode cancels all learned transmitter codes. So you must program all transmitters once you are in the program mode.

This is good info if you had to replace your transmitter with a new one.

Good Luck
