I love your lower mesh. How'd you get it to look so good? When I tried, it looked like sh!t.

HQuakers,

Sorry to hear abou the incident with the police. I made the lower grill myself. It is NOT MESH, but a perforated aluminum sheet. It is something that I have used as an Engineer. It is a rigid (you can bend it but if you hold it out it is not limp) material with circular hols not diamonds. I actually sell those upper and lower grills on ebay.

I bought the tail from Ebay a few months back for $370 shipped.

this was another set recently. Check this seller frequently. I bought mine from him also. Good guy, shipped very quickly.

LOL.. i set mine at 210 and he kept going. messed up cause if anything I shoulda put at least up to 245.oo + shipping and i would have still been cool with it.. but oh well.. next time around. The seller sells a lot of them and he also sells them outside of ebay. He had told me that someone was offering 278.00 + shipping but he still had those lights on ebay. which means he still had the ebay ones plus anyother ones which people offered too buy without going through ebay.. email him when you get some more cash and you dont care about spending it...LOL

Thanks Cornflake. You can either order the OEM Japan lights for $400 from www.value-caraudio.com or you can open up the headlights and paint the trims yourself. Thats what I did. Plus I added an HID projector in the factory foglight area.

I will have to try that, just a hot air gun and a prybar to get them apart?
how well dif the paint stick (Primer?) and did you use a gloss or a satin finish? (Sorry for all the questions, I just like to have things turn out right the first time and the more I know, the better chance of that happening!!) As for the Fogs, what did you use, like a Piaa fog kit or something? Thanks for your help!

I opened to lights with a heat gun and a flathead screwdriver. I used silicone to glue them back together. I never had moisture problems but with the hood open you could see the silicone.

After I did that I heard about using a stove to heat up the headlight, pry it open and paint the trims, put the headlight back together, put it back in the stove to heat up the glue, and push it back together. If I would've know about that way I would've done that instead. Re-using the OEM glue is much cleaner. Do a search for headlights and you'll find Colt45's instructions.

The HID projectors are OEM Mercedes SL500 low beam HID projectors. I got them from a kid I know who works at MB and got his hands on a set of headlights. So basically I had 4 HID low beams, 2 reflectors and 2 projectors. The best of both worlds.

BTW, when you paint the trims black your headlight pattern will be smaller.
