Talking pay attention to DETAIL

I think I'm gonna get my car detailed. This place quoted me a price of $125. he claims thay have the "only" machine in town that will steam clean the carpets and mats. He also said they do the wheels, engine, trunk, wax, etc...etc....and everything in between.:o So, just wondering if you guys (& gals) thought that was a decent price. I have never got my car detailed before.

Sincerely,

Mr. Clean

I guess that's not to bad. Just make sure that they are using quality products. Such as Lexol for the leather, and a good wax for the exterior like Zaino or Zymol. It shows what kind of shop it is by the products they use. Good luck, and post pics after it's detailed.

It's a good price for full detail like that. Just make sure that they do everything as they advertising. If they'll do a good job, your car will be brand spanking NEW

hehehe

Keeewwwlll.....I think I'm gonna get it done. The guy sounded real genuine and said I would be 100% satisfied with the work. Plus he also said he loves the older TL...I was sold right there!
Thanks guys

I would never pay 125 to get my car detailed. Man take a saturday afternoon and spend some quality cleaning time with your car. Is he buffing your paint too? If so then I would even consider it.
But to pay 125 for a wax job and shampoo, jus for some pigeon to sh#t on the car. I would be pissed.

Are you telling me your gonna take a saturday to clean the wheels, engine, wash, wax, steam the carpets and mats, deoderize to get that "new car smell," undercarriage, and everything else? Wow...I would like to see you try and get that done in one afternoon. It takes me 3 hours just to wash the exterior of my car. IMO, $125 once a year is a good investment for my car, especially when I go to sell it and get a better resale value. Besides, I would rather someone else detail my car then to do it my self and then have a pigeon sh!t on it. If the pigeon sh!ts on my hard work...that sucks and I would be pissed. If he sh!ts on the money I paid to get it done with...hey, I can live with that.

Also, its been like 105 degrees+ the past week in Oklahoma. I need a wax soon before the sun melts my finish off. And there's no way in Oklahoma...uh..I mean hell that I'm gonna detail my car in this weather. I'm trying to gain weight, not lose 20lb's by sweating it off. Damn, I want to move back east.

Damn, 3 hours for the outside? I clean my car all the time and it takes about an hour and I do a good job. I even scrub my calipers. If I do a complete detail (including waxing and interior) it takes a few hours. Its well worth it. I know those guys do a better job but I would rather do it myself to save some money. Thats $125 towards some TV's.

OK, maybe not 3 hours...but it has taken me at least 2 on some occasions. Do you do your engine too?

No, but I've been thinking about doing it. Do you clean yours? If so, which parts should I cover up?

No, I don't clean mine...that's why I want to it detailed. But I would say you should start by covering the battery.

Well, for $125 for as much things to be cleaned as mentioned, I say that it's worthy. I personally don't really need to do that, since I wash my car every weekend (exclude rainy days). I cleaned the exterior and interior. I change the cartridge for my air freshener regularly, and it's costly too.

This is my freshener - Hi-Tech Air Freshener (Air Spencer), look like this one, except mine is blue instead of red. Trust me, they are expensive but smell really GOOD

But anyway, I do think for $125 to do all that, IT IS WELL WORTHY. I say just do it and let all of us know the outcome.

It's just an ir freshener. It smells really good, but it doesn't last that long, and the refills are like 8 bucks.

Yes, it's just an air freshener as many other type. It just smells really good and expensive. As DDubb said, it doesn't last too long as well.
