occasional deep growl/ buzz on startup

Sometimes when I start my car, it makes a deep growl or buzz noise for about 1 or 2 seconds and then stops. For some reason, I think its related to the ABS system? maybe I heard that somewhere?? Just wondering what the heck it is. Anyone know?
thanks, Andy

likely ABS.
I had same prob. Told by Acura dealer that it was the cyclinders in Abs sys sticking.
So I had sys flushed and it worked.
Also told that it was usual in 2.5TL's.

--or--

It could be the ABS sys cycling. Which is normal.

You could take it and see what they say. My flush was free!!

Is it like...grrrr bzzz grrr?

that is most likely the ABS unit under the hood buzzing, kicking in. if there is no ABS light on or the sounds isn't constant, i wouldn't worry about it.

Does it do it when you are stopped, or just after you start to move? If it makes it just after you slowly start to move, it is probably the ABS going through its self test.

Change your rear brake pads. They are too thin and your ebrake cable is being pulled tighter. When you accelerate, weight transfer pulls it even more and the light comes on.
