New to the TL platform but not Acura

hey everyone,

thought I would introduce myself here, as this is where I will be hanging out the most. My name is Ian, I'm 23 and just picked up my first TL about a month ago. 1996 2.5 TL with 197xxx on the clock. Previous owner said he let his wife drive it and she got backed into, so the drivers fender and headlight were broken, but still functional, as well as something hitting the drivers tail light, so I went and picked those up yesterday at the junkyard, both in MINT condition for $30 total.

Anyways, bit about me, throughout high school, I have built a few different cars, 358 WHP civic, a few integras, and then started in on the luxury portion of my life, I have had 2 Acura Legend sedans, both 94-95, one auto, one 6 speed manual, had a 93 Legend coupe with an auto and an 89 Coupe with a 5 speed.

Sold the 93 coupe and bought a truck, which was a big mistake, as it needed a TON of work, but I had plans for it. Traded that for a 90 Integra, redid the core support and built the B18a1, sold that for a chunk of change and here I am now with my TL.

So I am going to be doing some maintenance next weekend, I am going to be replacing plugs, wires, an oil change, new fuel filter, I want to replace the trans filter and fluid aswell. Anybody have any tips or tricks on replacing that? or where would be the best place to get a HELMS manual.

I will also be looking to lower the car slightly, and throw a set of wheels on it. I really like the CCW Classic LM20 wheels.

Anyways, there's my book for the day. I look forward to meeting new people and really getting down and dirty with this car!

Ian

I will take some pics tomorrow!

I may know what I am doing in most senses, but I will still get a HELMS manual to cover my bases. There is DEFINITELY a lot to learn about these cars.

Pics are hard to get, as I work at 0700 until about 1830, but I will do my best

Picture time!! Excuse the lighting and dirtiness... Working crazy hours. It needs a drivers fender and a respray (I'm anal about body damage and paint)

You're going to respray the car after getting the parts replaced?
