Hard to wrong with the Toyo z800 ultras.

I just got 4 new ones and a front/rear alignment at Pepboys. The tires were a good deal and are guaranteed for life, so if anything happens, just take them to any Pepboys and they repair/replace. Also, free tire rotation every 5000 miles.

If you are going to drive in a lot of snow and ice, then you are really needing to buy four traction tires for safety. I learned this the hard way with a FWD car several years ago. The ass end of the thing will swap around so fast that you won't know what the hell hit you.

Just a safety thing. Please be careful....

I would go to Costco & buy a set of Michelins. Can't beat Costco prices, plus you get nitrogen inflation, free tire rotations and balancing for life.

I'll also add Yokohama Avid Touring. They're about $45 each and last forever (60k easily). Fairly quiet although once worn, they get a little louder. They're not sporting tires, but very comfortable.

I bought those before I got rid of the tl. Decent tires but they dont grip as well as i prefer, but they are perfect for normal city driving and do last a very long time.

Falken ze512 are cheap but as they get older they get louder and annoying. These tires are perfect for city driving and they are cheap. I use them as street tires since my car is lowered and camber wear kills tires in 10k.

They sell quite a few Toyo 800's around here. I know of people with 4 cylinder Camry's equipped with them and they'll get 36 or 37 mpg

Where are you located?

I've only seen them for sale in the northwest.

Live in Central Wyoming now, used to live about an hour west of Pendleton. I agree about the mileage. Best tire I ever had. My 1g will always have them.

It's time for me to change mine too. I'm considering BFGoodrich Traction A/T from Costco. They'll cost me about 75 bucks a piece (including installation and lifetime rotation and balancing). Does anyone have an idea about the Tractiion T/As? I couldn't find Toyos around here.

I have some Bridgestone Potenza G009's and couldn't be happier with the dry and wet performance. They may be more agressive than everyone desires though.

As a side note, anybody in Houston who wants the original 3.2 TL wheels with 50% worn Yokohama Avid Touring tires is welcome to take them from me.

Or you don't have to be from Houston, but be willing to come here.

I just put 4 Goodyear Triple Tred Assurance Tires on my 96' 3.2. Excellent tires. Expensive, but excellent.

Yeah, I've read really good reviews about the Assurance Triple Tread. I'm wondering if I should cheap out and go for the BFGoodrich Tractions or go for the Goodyear Assurance. The Assurance are pretty expensive though.

Tires

I would recommend the Goodyear’s over other ties. I haven’t owned many tires (Kelly Sprinters before this set) but from what I can tell after 3 thousand miles, they are great. Go with the Goodyear’s.

How are you liking those tires? Consumer Reports rates them pretty highly (Nov 06 issue) and they are reasonably priced so I'm thinking of getting them for my 97 3.2.

Top two tires are Dunlop Sport 5000 and Michelin Exalto a/s.

Falken 452's are better, but $$. I put Direzza DZ101s on my m8's Accord, and they're holding up just fine. Gives a bit of a warning before slipping out, but doesn't slip too much.

~Cheers~
