Need a little help installing Intake..

This is what I got today..

I have color coded little holes.
1. Biggest hose [in red circle] goes into the one coming from intake manifold. (right or wrong)??
2. Medium sized [in black circle] goes into the one coming from valve cover. (right or wrong)??

3. Where this small third one goes [ in blue circle]???

and one more thing. If you guys with intakes can post pics of your setup please. (especially you bwallace530, because I think we got same intake)

Just got the same one. I'll be installing it in about 20 minutes. Found this picture from another guy's car though.

Where everything plugs into is pretty straight-forward since the tubes are pretty close to the same size as the holes in the intake. But I just found out it's not exactly plug and play.

Blue: what's stock is normally a 90 degree plastic piece. But the plastic piece isn't big enough to fit over the new intake's hole. The stock tube by itself is also too big for the hole. So you'll need either a slightly bigger piece of plastic, or another small piece of tube.

Red: This thing has to stay there. You unhook it from the stock setup, but it has another tube attached to it that you need to keep connected.

Black: the blue tube that comes with the intake would actually work here. You have to use a bit of force to get it hooked onto the engine, and it slides on easily to the intake. I recommend getting another clamp to hold it onto the intake since it's too loose to me.

Yellow: the stock tube is too short. You'll need to buy a longer one.

Green: the blue sleeve they give you isn't long enough. You need a longer one or the intake will be bent at some crazy angle and it won't fit.

Orange: You might need another large tube to extend the intake so it fits. Not sure exactly.

So what it looks like you (and I) will need are:
- 2 large tubes for main intake
- 2-4 clamps for large tubes
- 1 small clamp for included tube
- 1 medium tube (to replace 90 degree plastic)
- 1 clamp for medium tube
- 1 small, long tube

For yellow, it's a really thin tube that's maybe 4 or 5 inches long stock. The one in the picture is about twice that. The stock one isn't long enough.

Stock it's plugged into a little 90 degree metal tube that goes into the intake. But the stock one is more on top and about 5 inches to the right. As to what it's plugged into on the engine, I'm not sure, but you only have to detach the intake end.

It goes into the TCS. You don't have traction so just plug that hole.

So I am just done installing intake. It sounds so damn good. As soon as you go past 4000 RPM it sounds like VTEC .

TLin401, If I record a video its gonna be crappy. I'll try though

Gotta love the variable volume intake

Sounds really nice on the 3.5 motor as well in my RL, kinda NSX-ish and has a real growl to it.

You can actually just delete the old metal hardline hoses and just loop those coolant hoses underneath the TB. I'm not even sure why they would loop coolant hoses underneath the vacuum lines for the intake. You can also do the coolant throttle body bypass while you're at it.

The hardlines we're referring to are the two pipes that are stuck together with the bracket. Can't miss it.

Easier install for you since you don't have TCS. With TCS I have to find somewhere that sells 3" rubber tubes.

With a good intake (not eBay) it comes with enough couplers to install it.

People scare me sometimes.

Check out some junkyards. I know one near me just got a '98 TL with a smashed in trunk that they've been parting out on Craigslist.

acuraoemparts.com

The parts will cost you like $40 then labor will be like $500+

Start another thread or do a search because there is a TON on this.
