My first accident
It was pretty scary and I still dont know whats going to happen in the next few days as it just happened today. It seems it was green for the both of us and so we met at the intersection. I'd like everyone to know that the TLs are pretty damn solid it seems. I left with only a small scratch on my left arm, but the woman was crying, maybe in some sort of shock, probably whiplash. She had a baby in the back too. There was no physical iunjuries from what I could see or at least no blood. They (paramedics) took her away before I could get info though, so I'm hoping the cops got it in the report. They towed away my car and stuff. I've called my insurance. Now I just play the waiting game? Is there anything else I should do or could do in the future? Thanks in advance.

Shoot its been five minutes.....
I thought I'd state what I actually did and that way you guys can tell advise me better
1) I got out of the car
2) Checked if she was ok, told me she was ok
3) Helped her get her baby out, and get the hell away, since her car was leaking something and there was a lot of smoke
4) Called 911
5) Lent her my phone so she can call family
6) Went to turn off and pull out both keys
7) Paramedics and cops arrive, she complains about pains, etc. I dont ever talk to her again because I'm getting checked out, shes getting checked out. I'm ok with blood pressure and everything. Shes crying, chest pains, neck pains. They put a neck brace on and then put her on a stretcher and take her away
8) Tow truck comes, her family get stuff out, I get things out of my car.
9) Call insurance after getting a case number.

Don't talk to any authorities (her insurance, police) about any of your opinions. "I'm sorry." "I think it was her fault" etc etc. Just keep discussions to the facts.
You've already left the scene of the accident so don't talk to anybody now except your insurance. From the way you illustrated it, sounds like she might try to claim injuries or whatnot. If you get an attorney trying to contact you, direct it to your insurance. Don't say anything to the attorney. At all.
Who was ticketed if anybody?

Damn, that sucks. I'm not getting the story straight however, how was it green for both and you got in a head on collision but the cars are placed as though it was a rear end...did the focus spin around? The fluid leaking out of the ford is antifreeze from the radiator, no caution for fires there. Hope it turns out ok but judging by you, who's fault is it? or both? Your TL looks to have about 3-5g of damage on it, imo i think that both cars are totalled...sorry for the TL, i'm sure you liked it.

P.S. You can actually see that Tl was moving forward as Focus impacted at the corner light. The forward motion of the TL is what caused the dragging and damage to the front fender. She didn't hit her brakes as she approached the TL and probably didn't throughout the initial impact.

Note the lack of structural reinforcement at the left front area of your car. The structural bumper beam stops short of fully protecting the front corners. I first noticed this when my body shop had my bumpers off for painting. If Acura simply extended the structural bumber beam to the corner your damage would probably be far less. At least everyone seems somewhat in ok shape. The focus took a beating.

Alright, thanks for the info. There were no tickets issued. I will keep the attorney thing in mind.
Yeah the Focus just cumbled up, scary.
I meant it was green for both as in, we both saw a green light and there were no witnesses, so its my word against hers.
I REALLY loved this car, it had been in my family since day one. At 3k-5k, I might just be tempted to fix her. I can only hope to replace her with another. 1st gen again, of course!

im glad to see/hear that you walked out with no major injuries... that is all that matters in this case... cars are replacable, your life isn't.... but i am with the consensus here and your car does not look that bad... im assuming tho it was not drivable??? im sure it can be fixed... let us know how everything turns out...

I concur with the general consensus. It is most important that you all are alright. I also agree that you should keep a lid on it unless you are talking to your insurance company. The car doesn't look like a total loss to me, though. Hopefully you can get her fixed and back on the road. Again, Glad that you're okay! Keep us posted.

Update- totalled.
Damage was at $9.6 k
They assessed my car to be worth $7688 + 634 (tax) + $71 (unused Lic.) - $250 (deductible) =
$8,143
Everything was still stock, cept the headunit. Is that good? My mom didn't think anything of the price, but my friends are telling me I could argue(?) to get some more.

Request the timing plan for the signal from the county or city responsible for maintaining it. It is possible, although unlikely, they screwed up and the signal did show green for both approaches.
